Rell announced that the 375th Anniversary Commission is preparing to bury a time capsule by the end of 2010 to culminate the year-long celebration of the state’s 375th Anniversary and is inviting the public to submit ideas for inclusion. 10/7/2010Governor Rell: First Two Months of Truck Safety Crackdown Results in Nearly 15,000 Violations
  On the same day that Route 8 was partially closed in Thomaston because of an overturned tractor-trailer, Governor M. Jodi Rell announced that the first two months of the state’s ongoing crackdown on unsafe truckers on Connecticut highways have resulted in citations for 14,777 violations, including tickets for such dangerous practices as following too closely, making unsafe lane changes and speeding.
