Governor Rell had previously ordered U.S. and State of Connecticut flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of former U.S. Rep. Emilio “Mim” Daddario, who represented Connecticut for 12 years in Congress and passed away on Wednesday. Flags will remain at half-staff until the interments of both Representative Daddario and Lieutenant Krueger have been completed.

Under the program, the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles will begin offering a program in July 2011 that offsets a portion of the sales tax bus companies pay for school buses equipped with three-point seatbelts. The program will be funded through a $50 increase in the fees paid for restoring suspended or revoked driver’s licenses, commercial driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations.
