Please take advantage of the DMV services that will make it easier for you to successfully complete your DMV business. DMV wants to help you navigate our system and provide you with efficient service. Below are some links for most-often asked questions. We think these will assist many individuals with unique needs. Please remember that DMV can only process motor-vehicle related business when the disabled customer is present. To help avoid waiting in line, be sure to check the current DMV wait times!

Parking Permits
Before applying for a parking permit, please make sure you have a qualifying disability.
 
Registration Renewal
An invitation to renew your registration will automatically be mailed to you within 60 days prior to your expiration date. You can renew your registration online, through the mail or at a DMV Office.  See Registration Renewal for additional information.
 
Note: DMV no longer issues passenger car disabled driver license plates. However, if you already have passenger car disabled driver license plates, you may continue to use them by renewing your registration.
 
Returning License Plates
You can return your Connecticut license plate(s) and cancel your resgistration through the mail or at a DMV Hub office. Note: Customers can quickly return their plate(s) at the information booth located on the first floor of the Wethersfield DMV office.
