May Is Mental Health Month 2016
"Life With a Mental Illness"
Sharing is the key to breaking down the discrimination and stigma surrounding mental illnesses,
and to show others that they are not alone in their feelings and their symptoms.
Each May, we celebrate Mental Health Month
- an annual, nationwide observance established over fifty years ago by Mental Health America
(formerly National Mental Health Association) to raise awareness of mental health and to promote mental wellness. Throughout the month, agencies across the state will host events in their communities to help people recognize the importance of mental health and to promote a greater understanding of mental health disorders.
